
EDINBURGH - Nobel Peace Prize Nominee and Free West Papua Campaign
founder Benny Wenda meeting with famous BBC journalist Andrew Marr as
well as interviewed live mainstream broadcasters including (BBC News and
ITV News) and many media outlets ( The press and Journal, The Radical
Independence Campaign, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Evening Telegraph,
and the Bangkok Post) regarding his point view of the Scotland
referendum which what it will the benefit for West Papuan on Friday 19th
September 2014, this week, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
“I came to Scotland as the guest and observe to learn about how the
referendum was being organised and run. I was inspired by the fact it
had been conducted without any pressure from the UK Government”, said
Benny Wenda.
While interviewed Benny Wenda sent very clear messages to the Scottish
people, British people, international community, and Indonesia
government, "My dream is that in a peaceful way West Papua will have the
right to choose their own destiny like Scottish people," he said.
"[What] I am witnessing directly now, it gives me hope that one day it

However, Benny Wenda present to be witness directly to learn and see how
the Scotland referendum will be better example to apply for West Papua,
because West Papua has been deny their right to self-determination and
referendum by America, Netherlands, and Indonesia since “New York
Agreement 1963” where those countries sold West Papuan to the second
colony which Indonesia. Therefore, Benny strongly believe that, this
referendum can inspired him and his people.
Benny Wenda, demanding to the people of the Scotland, British, and
international communities to put pressure on their government to allow
West Papuan people have right to exercise and vote for their destiny
which referendum for West Papua with democratically way under
International law.
Finally, at the end of the interviewed live by many media outlets and
mainstream broadcaster congratulated Benny Wenda for his campaign
against Indonesia colonialism and slavery from Indonesia. Good luck for
your campaign and hope you will gain your independence and you will go
free man where you can re-join with your people.
Benny Wenda’s trip to Scotland (17th to 19th September 2014) as more and
more people are made aware about the struggle of our people for an
independence and referendum of their own. This incredible awareness and
increase support from Scottish people and international community.
